The ENERGY PRODUCTION RWANDA Ltd Goal is to Provide electricity access to rural communities through establishment of a new hydropower plant and improve local business opportunities. The main activity is the Electric power production, transmission and distribution.

Rwanda plans to achieve 512MW installed power generation capacity by2023/24
Universal access (100%) by 2023/24; with on grid connections representing 52% and off-grid48%by2023/24

Power Generation mix is currently diversified as follow:

The main objective of the project is to construct a hydropower plant to generate 4.5MW (installed capacity) on the Mukungwa River in Northern Province of Rwanda in order to contribute to supply electricity to rural population in the project area.

The objective of this study is to assess the feasibility of the project, outlining its technical and economic potential.

This study consists of a number of elements; project area description, geological, topographical and hydrological investigations, project design and a bill of quantities, as well as economic analysis.

He initiated the Musarara Small Hydropower Plantin 2006-2011 located in Gakenke District under the SOGEMR company. SOGEMR LTD is société de Gestionde l’énergie et de l’eau enmilieurural. Today the Musarara small hydropower plant is in operation with production capacity of 450kw.
